Production: Only 435 were built, making it exceptionally rare.
The car was designed by the legendary American stylist Howard "Dutch" Darrin, who wanted to create an elegant American sports car to compete with MGs and Jaguars. It was also one of the first production cars in the United States with a fibreglass body, beating the Corvette to market by a matter of weeks.
Value today
A well-restored Kaiser-Darrin typically sells for £100,000–£160,000 ($130,000–$200,000), with exceptional examples fetching even more due to their rarity.
