Welcome to our corner of the motoring world. From Jaguars and Rovers to Mustangs, MGs and forgotten gems, we'll be sharing stories, photographs, memories and the occasional restoration headache from both sides of the Atlantic.

From British elegance to American muscle, this corner of JK Talla celebrates the machines that carried us through the twentieth century and the innovations shaping tomorrow's roads.

Whether you're drawn to chrome bumpers, walnut dashboards, roaring V8s, or cutting-edge electric performance, pull up a chair and join the conversation.

Here you'll find classic car features, motoring memories, restoration stories, and occasional looks at the cars that may become tomorrow's classics.

Meet My Co-Writer and Son: Philip the Rascal

Unlike me, who has spent years admiring cars from the roadside, Philip has a habit of bringing them home.

A lifelong enthusiast with a particular affection for British classics, Philip combines an appreciation for automotive history with the practical realities of ownership, restoration, and keeping old machinery alive in a modern world.

His pride and joy is a handsome, aquamarine-blue 1973 Rover P5B Coupe, a car with a story all its own.

Philip purchased the Rover from the popular television series Wheeler Dealers, giving him ownership not only of a remarkable motor car but also a small piece of motoring television history.

Between us, we bring two different perspectives to these pages. I tend to be fascinated by the stories, memories, and social history that surround classic cars. Philip brings the knowledge that comes from ownership, maintenance, research, and countless hours spent with bonnet open and hands covered in grease.

Together we'll be exploring classic cars from both sides of the Atlantic, celebrating the engineering, personalities, and innovations that have shaped the motoring world.

So if you see the occasional reference to "Philip the Rascal," you'll know exactly who we're talking about.

Welcome to the garage.

Right then. Bonnets up. Let's talk cars.

My Visit To The Greenbrae Classic Car Show

There is something wonderfully democratic about a classic car show.

No invitations are required. No velvet ropes keep people apart. On a sunny afternoon, owners and visitors gather around machines that have survived decades, each carrying stories, memories, and a little bit of history beneath the bonnet.

Some arrive with cameras. Others come with grandchildren. Many come simply to stand quietly beside a car they once owned, or wished they had owned, and revisit a different chapter of their lives.

At Greenbrae, the attraction wasn't merely the chrome or the horsepower. It was the conversations. Owners were eager to share restoration stories, explain modifications, or recall how they stumbled across a long-forgotten treasure sitting in a barn or garage.

One gentleman spent twenty years searching for the exact model he had driven as a young man. Another proudly displayed a car he had rebuilt piece by piece over a decade. Every vehicle seemed to have a story, and every owner seemed delighted to tell it.

Perhaps that is the true magic of classic cars.

Unlike modern vehicles, which often come and go without leaving much of an impression, classic cars become part of our lives. They accompany first dates, family holidays, weddings, road trips, and youthful adventures. Long after the keys have changed hands, the memories remain.

As this new motoring corner of JK Talla begins to grow, Philip and I would love to hear your stories.
